Heraclius (610-641). Seal (Lead, 26 mm, 20.00 g, 12 h), 610-613. Facing bust of Heraclius, with a short, round beard, wearing chlamys and crown with cross and pendilia. Rev. Nimbate Mother of God standing facing, holding infant Christ with two hands in front of her; on either side, long cross potent. DO 12.1. Zacos/Veglery 10. A rare early imperial seal of Heraclius as sole emperor, struck in the first years of his reign. The usual short flan, otherwise, very fine.
